Online Registration & Payment For Las Vegas Safekey/Ignite Before- And After-School Enrichment Programs Open For 2019-2020 School Year
Learning Beyond The Bell Starts With City Of Las Vegas Programs
Online Registration for Safekey and Ignite before- and after-school enrichment programs, for youth in kindergarten through middle school, is open. The programs afford students the opportunity to learn beyond the bell. Registration and payments can be completed online on at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Safekey.
There is an annual $20 registration fee per participant per account for these programs. The daily cost is $7 for before-school attendance and $10 for after-school. Financial aid applications are accepted only at the Safekey/Ignite office located at 416 N. Seventh St. Application forms are available for download online in English or Spanish. Limited financial aid will be available to qualified applicants.
Safekey (grades K-5) and Ignite (grades 6-8) are youth enrichment programs outside of school hours at 70 Clark County School District elementary schools and five middle schools within the city of Las Vegas.
Safekey daily and weekly scheduled activities include physical fitness, STEM programming (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), arts and crafts, Reader’s Theater, games, reading time, special events, homework time and a nutritional afternoon snack.
Imagination drives all Ignite programs. This after-school program encourages middle school students to discover their talents, cultivate leadership skills and nurture self-esteem. Ignite concentrates on STEM topics and focuses on subjects to help youth gain skills to succeed in today’s world.
Safekey/Ignite operate as pre-paid programs; participants must be pre-enrolled and paid for each specific date of attendance. Safekey/Ignite programs follow the school district calendar and operate on days that school is in session. School begins Aug. 12, 2019.
