City Of Las Vegas Building & Safety
Moves To Electronic Plans Submittal
Design Professionals To Begin Electronic Submittals Aug. 5, 2019
The city of Las Vegas’ Building & Safety Department is moving from paper to digital today in their acceptance of plans, applications and supporting documents. Design professionals and contractors formerly brought all the paperwork to the city’s Development Services Center at 333 N. Rancho Drive. Now a few clicks on the computer keyboard will accomplish the same thing, saving people time, paper, gasoline, pollution and money. The new system is expected to save the city time and money as well, speeding up plan reviews and reducing paper costs and storage space needs.
All building plans will need to be submitted in a digital format via the city’s Building & Safety Department's Building Permits webpage by clicking the “My Permits Dashboard” link. Customers can create a city log-in and submit their application forms and plans in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format, as well as any engineering calculations, soils reports, or other correspondence that normally accompanies a building or civil plan electronically, instead of on paper. This online process is for any permit obtained for building, repairs, additions, remodels, civil plans, utility plans, etc. The previous online permit options that do not require submitted plans remain available online.
Online submittals will enable simultaneous reviews by different disciplines / departments, shortening the time needed to complete reviews. Customers also will be able to upload and submit any corrections or resubmittals, download approved plans, and pay application fees online, avoiding additional trips to the Development Services Center.
