City Council Selects Councilwoman Michele Fiore As New Mayor Pro Tem

New Mayor Pro Tem Joins Three Newly Seated Council Members

The Las Vegas City Council unanimously elected Ward 6 Councilwoman Michele Fiore to serve as mayor pro tem at today’s City Council meeting. Her nomination to the post was moved forward by Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman.

Mayor Pro Tem Fiore was elected to the Ward 6 City Council seat in June 2017. As mayor pro tem, she will assume the mayor’s duties, including running City Council meetings, should the mayor be absent. Mayor Pro Tem Fiore will take over the position previously held by Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian, who completed 14 years on the City Council.

In addition, at today’s City Council meeting, the winners of the June 11 election were sworn in. Ward 1 Councilman Brian Knudsen, Ward 2 Councilwoman Victoria Seaman and Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz are now officially seated members of the City Council.

Mayor Goodman and Ward 5 Councilman Cedric Crear won reelection in the April 2 Primary Election and were previously sworn into office.
