Fire In Dental Office May 30 Ruled Arson
Automatic Fire Sprinklers Stopped Fire From Spreading To Rest of Complex
Las Vegas fire investigators have determined that a fire in a dental office in the northwest part of the city was intentionally set. Automatic fire sprinklers stopped the fire from spreading to the rest of the strip mall where the office is located.
Firefighters were notified at 3:04 a.m. Thursday, May 30, that water was flowing in the Dona Maria Plaza, 3211 N. Tenaya Way. Firefighters forced entry into a dental office and determined that is where the fire originated. Automatic fire sprinklers in the office extinguished the fire. Two other offices nearby, including an attorney’s office, were checked for extension. The additional offices were not damaged by the fire, but did have an odor of smoke. A damage amount was not immediately available.
Fire investigators believe an intense fire occurred, which set off several fire sprinklers in the dental office. Had there not been any fire sprinklers, the fire would have spread to several other businesses.
The incident remains under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
