City Of Las Vegas Launches Redesigned Website
New Site Focuses on Usability And
Connecting Residents And Visitors
To City Services
The
city of Las Vegas has launched a newly redesigned version of the city website, www.lasvegasnevada.gov. The site features a new refreshed look, and focuses on
delivering information conveniently as well as connecting users to city
services.
The refreshed site offers flexibility in how
information is presented utilizing videos, images and more. The city worked
with local web design firm AdLava to create 27 modular templates that offer the
ability to tailor pages to make the site easier to use for our residents,
businesses and visitors. The new visual design is clean, professional and
offers easy navigation and many ways to get to the services and information the
city provides. Some new and upgraded features include:
- Additional space for video
- Pay section on the top navigation
- Cleaner look, with clear language
- Frequently visited page links as part of the search function
- Dedicated space for city blogs
The
new site cost $157,000, and the city expects to see savings going forward
because the site is built and maintained internally by the city’s Information
Technologies Department.
In addition to the
new site, the city offers many ways for residents to learn about what is
happening in the city. The city offers award–winning programming through KCLV
Channel 2 as well as on multiple streaming platforms. The city also has a
robust social media presence, and offers the free GOVegas app, which is
available for free download for iOS from the Apple
App Store and for Android at Google
Play.
