City Council To Recognize Two National Champion

Youth Soccer Teams

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Volunteers

And Suicide Prevention Awareness Month To Also Be Recognized   


The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the accomplishments of two local national champion youth soccer teams at the Wednesday, Sept. 5, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

 

Councilman Stavros S. Anthony welcomes the Las Vegas Sports Academy ’03 Boys Silver Soccer Team that became the first team in Nevada to win the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship.

 

 Councilwoman Michele Fiore will also recognize an accomplished soccer club, the Las Vegas Sports Academy 04’ Girls White Soccer Team. This 14 and under team brought home the 2018 U.S. Youth Soccer President Cup National Championship.

 

In addition, Councilman Steven G. Seroka is scheduled to recognize Suicide Prevention Month. Councilman Seroka will bring awareness to this issue that claims more than 41,000 lives a year.

 

Councilman Anthony is also scheduled to recognize the September Citizens of the Month, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Volunteers, or MVP team. These volunteers are committed to providing outstanding police support services. This volunteer group draws on the rich heritage and unique skills of our culturally diverse community. 

 

Finally, the City Council will also recognize the Employee of the Month.
