Mayor’s Faith Initiative Celebrates September National Recovery Month
Free Resource Village/Roundtable Discussions/Information Sessions Saturday, Sept. 1


The public is invited to attend the Mayor’s Faith Initiative September National Recovery Month free event at the East Las Vegas Community Center Saturday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is located at 250 N. Eastern Ave. The event will feature a resource village for those looking for education and assistance with drug and alcohol addiction prevention, treatment and recovery. Youth leaders will guide their own groups in roundtable discussions about topics important to them on relevant substance use-related topics, including marijuana and emerging street drugs. There will be community information sessions on:

 

  • suicide prevention,
  • overdose awareness,
  • tobacco cessation, and
  • vaping awareness.

 
     Youth, family and the faith community are joining together to share healing, education and support resources to promote drug/tobacco/alcohol addiction prevention, treatment and recovery.
