Storm Drain Installation Work Begins Aug. 6 In El Capitan Way
Between Lone Mountain Road And Ann Road
Motorists Should Expect Delays During Yearlong
Project
The city of Las Vegas will begin installation of a storm drain system in
El Capitan Way, between Lone Mountain and Ann roads, and adjacent side streets, Monday, Aug. 6. Motorists should expect delays during the yearlong
project.
The work will consist of the installation
of concrete box storm drains, reinforced concrete pipe, PVC storm drain pipe,
storm drain manholes, drop inlets, water line relocations, PVC sanitary sewer,
pavement replacement, pavement markings, and all other improvements that are
incidental and necessary to complete the work.
The side streets that will be impacted
along El Capitan Way are Verde Way, La Madre Way, Rosada Way, Washburn Road,
Fisher Avenue, Hammer Lane and Stephen Avenue. Safety and maintaining access
will be high priorities during construction.
Las Vegas Paving
is the contractor. This $7.4 million project is
being paid for with Clark County Regional Flood Control District funds. Although
the work will take place in Clark County, this storm drain project is
located within the Gowan Watershed, which is managed by the city of Las Vegas.
The new storm drain will benefit both county and city residents. Those with questions
or concerns during the work should call 702.251.5800.
