Lane Restrictions Begin July 26 On Washington Avenue 

Between Bruce Street and Lamb Boulevard
Work On New Sidewalk, Curbs & Gutter To Continue Three Weeks


Starting Thursday, July 26, and continuing for the next three weeks, new sidewalks will be constructed, and damaged sidewalks, curbs and gutter will be removed and replaced, on Washington Avenue between 18th Street and Lamb Boulevard. Lane restrictions will be continuous throughout the duration of the project. Bonanza Road and Owens Avenue are recommended as alternate routes for west- and eastbound traffic.

 

Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Eastbound traffic will generally be restricted to one travel lane on Washington between 18th Street and Mojave Road, and between Sandhill Road and Lamb Boulevard. Westbound traffic will be restricted to one travel lane on Washington between Sandhill Road and Virgil Street. 

 

Damaged sidewalks, curbs and gutter will be removed and replaced on the south side of Washington Avenue between 18th Street and Mojave Road and on the north side of Washington Avenue between Sandhill Road and Virgil Street. 

 

Mikon Construction is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the project is $135,000, with funding provided by the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission’s Fuel Revenue Indexing tax, 1% room tax and Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax.
