Charleston/Lamb Intersection Blocked During Marathon
Sewer Rehabilitation Friday-Monday, July 27-30 Motorists
Are Encouraged To Use Alternate Routes
The
partial closure of the Charleston Boulevard/Lamb Boulevard intersection is
expected to begin Friday, July 27, at 7 a.m. and end Monday, July 30, at 5 p.m.
This will be an around-the-clock marathon of work to repair and rehabilitate
the existing 51-inch sanitary sewer line and manholes in the intersection. Expect major
traffic delays in the area while the work is being done. Detours will be in
place. Access to businesses in the area
will remain open. Motorists just passing through are encouraged to use
alternate routes, i.e. Stewart Avenue,
Bonanza Road, and Sahara Avenue for east-west traffic and Nellis Boulevard,
Pecos Road or Marion Drive for north-south access. Here are the most important things to note:
-
July 27 at 7 a.m. through July 30 at 5 p.m. - Southbound Lamb Boulevard will be restricted to
one lane. This lane will provide access to the businesses on the northwest
corner of Charleston and Lamb Boulevard. This will be a right-turn-only lane at
Charleston Boulevard; left turns and through traffic will be prohibited for
southbound Lamb travel.
-
July 27 at 9 p.m. until July 30 at 5 a.m. - Northbound Lamb Boulevard will be
partially closed at the Charleston intersection. Traffic will be able to turn
right onto Charleston Boulevard or continue north along Lamb Boulevard through
the intersection. Left turns onto westbound Charleston will be prohibited for vehicles
traveling northbound on Lamb.
-
July 27 at 9 p.m. until July 30 at 5
a.m. - Eastbound Charleston Boulevard will
be partially closed at the Lamb intersection. Traffic will be able to turn
right onto Lamb Boulevard or continue east on Charleston Boulevard through the
intersection. Left turns onto Lamb from
eastbound Charleston will be prohibited.
-
July 27 at 9 p.m. until July 30 at 5
a.m. - Westbound Charleston Boulevard will
be partially closed at the intersection. Travelers on westbound Charleston will
be able to turn left or right onto Lamb Boulevard; through traffic will be
prohibited.
Las Vegas Paving is the contractor and the project is being paid for
by the city of Las Vegas Sanitation Fund. Those with questions or concerns during the
work should call 702-251-5800.
