City Of Las Vegas June 2018 Senior Special Events

Las Vegas Residents Invited To Celebrations, Luncheons & Activities At City Centers


     The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, craft, arts, dance, music and computer classes; cards; games; discussion and social groups; luncheons; sports; and special events Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and better. Many of these activities contribute to wellness and a healthy lifestyle. A listing of classes and activities is published in the Beyond the Neon Leisure Guide, available online at www.lasvegasparksandrec.com and in the centers. All activities are subject to change. Most activities require $10 annual membership in city of Las Vegas Active Adult/Senior Citizen Programs, available at all senior and active adult centers.

 

Shiver Me Timbers Pirate Luncheon (ages 50+)

Friday, June 1, 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $5. Advance registration required.

Picnic in the Garden (ages 50+)

Wednesday, June 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: $5. Advance registration required by June 1 at Doolittle Senior Center.

Enjoy a great American picnic with grilled burgers, hot dogs, fruit, desserts and lemonade.  A tree-planting ceremony in memory of Master Gardener Don Fabbi will be held at the Doolittle Senior Center Community Garden, located in the 1200 block of Blankenship.  Bring an umbrella.  Call 702-229-6125 to reserve your seat.

15th Annual Las Vegas Senior Idol Showcase (all ages)

Thursday, June 21, 3 p.m.

Tickets: $5.

Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. 

This showcase features entertainment by amateur and professional performers ages 50 and older who sing, dance, play musical instruments and perform comedy. Tickets sell out every year for the single performance. Tickets are priced at $5 and are on sale at all city of Las Vegas senior centers. Call 702-229-6454 for tickets and information.

 

Mt. Charleston Picnic (ages 50+)
