June 2026
 Dear District G Residents,
I was fortunate enough to take part in a special Memorial Day Ceremony at Hoover Dam which recognized both Memorial Day and America's 250th anniversary. A massive American flag, the size of a football field, now hangs across the face of Hoover Dam, and each evening through July 4th, Hoover Dam will glow in red, white, and blue. It's a very moving display honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, so if you have an opportunity to check it out in person, you won't be disappointed.
As always, do not hesitate to email me at DistrictG@clarkcountynv.gov or call my office at (702) 455-3500 with any questions or concerns you may have. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instagram and X.

What a blast it was to reopen Paradise Water Park after a 2-year hiatus due to much needed repairs. To commemorate opening day on May 23rd, we threw a grand reopening party, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Thank you to everyone that helped to get this project to completion, and thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate. As an extra treat, all attendees received a free In-N-Out Burger lunch. We hope the neighborhood is happy to have their water park back!
Last month, at the May 19th Board of County Commissioners meeting, I was able to recognize two extraordinary examples of Clark County citizens whose commitment to community is exemplary.
In recognition of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Middle Eastern Heritage Month, I had the privilege of honoring Sergeant Chris Kinman with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Sergeant Kinman has been with Metro since 2010 and has been a part of several critical incidents; 1 October and more recently, the UNLV Active Shooter tragedy, where he was awarded the Medal of Valor for being one of the first officers inside UNLV. Congratulations to Chris on this truly deserved recognition, and we thank him for all he does to protect and serve our community.
Also, each year, and in partnership with American Mother's Inc., I am pleased to honor outstanding women who contribute to our community, nurture their families, and who view motherhood not as a role, but as a journey of mutual growth. Congratulations to the 2026 Nevada Mothers of the Year:
- 2026 Nevada Mother of the Year Sarah Banda
- 2026 Nevada Mother of Achievement Kathleen Miller
- 2026 Nevada Legacy Mother of the Year Mary Beth Scow
- 2026 Candy Krausman Mothers of Honor Jeanalin Rehm, Christina Smith and Mary Wardle
My staff and I were lucky enough to be invited for breakfast by our heroes at Clark County Fire Station 25. We shared a delicious homemade meal while learning about each other and sharing some stories. Our Clark County Fire Department works around the clock to respond to any and all emergencies and I am so grateful to them for their service and the enormous pride they take in serving our community.
