We are proud to celebrate Black History Month by honoring the culture, resilience and leadership that have helped shape our community.
We kick off the month with Gospel Fest at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater on Saturday February 7, 10am-3pm. Enjoy uplifting performances from renowned artists like Ernest Pugh, Brent Jones and more as well as food and local vendors.

In partnership with Nevada State University, we will be hosting a community meeting on February 19 to provide an update on the University Area I-11 Interchange Feasibility Study. The meeting will include a discussion of stakeholder feedback and input gathered at a previous community meeting, which is being used to develop alternative interchange options. These options aim to support the continued growth of Nevada State University and the I-11 corridor. Learn more about the project.
Come experience the thrill of badminton on February 27 and shamrock mini-golf on March 17 under glow-lights at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center! Like “open gym," equipment and playing space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are encouraged to bring their own racquets if they desire. Parks and Recreation makes these exciting, fast-paced sport experiences possible.
We are taking a fresh look at Lake Mead Parkway as part of our initiative to help shape the future of this growing corridor between I-11 and Lake Las Vegas. The study gives our community the opportunity to share ideas and feedback on mobility, transportation and public use as the area develops. Join us at upcoming public meetings and share your input by completing the project survey to help guide future improvements.
Exciting upgrades are coming to Cornerstone Park! Portions of the north and east sides of the park will be temporarily closed as construction begins on new amenities, including a fitness course, swing bench area, shaded picnic area and more. Construction is expected to begin in February and conclude in the summer. Learn more about upcoming upgrades.
Henderson parks, trails, rec centers, programs and events are more than mere amenities; they are the essential infrastructure that shape our community’s shared identity and enhance the quality of life of our residents. Learn more at wemakeitpossible.org.
