On Friday, September 13, Team Jones and I along with LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill, my close friend Minddie Lloyd with her family and her close friends joined in celebration of the naming dedication of a new park in District F.
This new park located on the intersection of Tee Pee Lane and Patrick Lane, will be officially named Lt. Erik Lloyd Memorial Park in recognition of the late Lieutenant Erik Lloyd, a 30-year veteran of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). A separate announcement will be provided at a later time on the opening of the park once we set an official date and time for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

On Sunday, September 29, my team and I was fortunate enough to participate in this year's National Drive Electric Week hosted by the amazing folks at the Department of Environment and Sustainability and the Southern Nevada Clean Cities Coalition. This year was filled with great vendors that participated in the festivities from multimodal electric options to even how to obtain solar panels for our homes.
These vendors shared how electrifying our households is as simple as making a subtle switch and provided information on how to obtain tax credits to make the transition affordable. Special thanks to the staff at the Department of Environment and the community partners that came out to share the benefits to electrifying our lives by take small steps that will equal to a larger impact to our environment.
As a conclusion to the week long of highlighting these benefits, my colleagues and I recognized the week of September 27 to October 6, 2024 during our monthly board recognition item. Congratulations to the Department of Environment and Sustainability and the Southern Nevada Clean Cities Coalition for being recognized for this honor.
