School is back in session! I want to take the time to thank all of our educators, administrators, and support staff for all you do for our schools on a daily basis. Without the hard work that you do for our students, none of our professions would exist and we would not have the means to have a successful economy and society that we are fortunate enough to be able to have.
The month of September is Emergency Preparedness Month and there are a plethora of resources available to guide you to be better prepared in the event of an emergency. Whenever there is a disaster, it is always a safe recommendation to have a follow up plan of action, have a survival kit with supplies that will last you and your family for at least a period of seven days, and be informed of the hazards of what dangers exists in your area. For more information, please feel free to visit- www.Ready.gov.
As always, please feel free to contact me and my team by phone at (702) 455-3500 or by email at DistrictF@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also follow me @JustinJonesNV on Threads, Facebook, and Instagram to keep up with the latest events and news in the District.

Team Jones and I are thrilled to share the success of our 4th Annual Back-to-School Event at Desert Breeze Community Center! This year, we took it a step further by adding a second event specifically to support our District F Title 1 school teachers. We were able to assist over 150 teachers with essential classroom supplies like paper, pens, markers, laminating sheets, and so much more. We recognize that teachers often spend their own money to ensure their classrooms are well-equipped, and we wanted to ease that burden so they can focus on what they do best—teaching our children.
The following day, we welcomed over 2,000 community members who came out to receive free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, vaccines, dental screenings, and even ice cream sno-cones. In addition, they had the opportunity to connect with resources from over 40 community partners.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible sponsors, community partners, dedicated volunteers, and the amazing staff at Desert Breeze Community Center. Together, we made both events a resounding success. Thank you for helping us ensure our students and teachers are ready for a great school year ahead!

We are thrilled to share that Team Jones recently teamed up with boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya and his partner, Holly Sonders, in a remarkable effort to uplift our local community. The Oscar De La Hoya Foundation made an incredible $20,000 donation to the Vegas Force Foundation, a contribution that directly impacted Title 1 schools in District F by providing crucial classroom supplies for our dedicated teachers at the Back to School event.
The Vegas Force Foundation, a nonprofit committed to empowering at-risk youth through academics, life skills, and sports, continues to inspire us with their unwavering dedication to making a difference. This partnership is a shining example of what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Clark High School for being the perfect host for this event and to Commissioner Tick Segerblom for his ongoing support of our mission. A special thank you goes out to Oscar, Holly, Golden Boy Promotions, and the Vegas Force Foundation for their tireless efforts to uplift and support underprivileged and underserved communities.
Together, we are building a brighter future for our children and our community.

Team Jones and I along with our partners at Enterprise Area Command and the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition, Mountain’s Edge Master Association held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the Tenaya Paseo Rush Channel Bridge.
This bridge serves to be a safer connection for pedestrians. cyclists, and students traveling around the area. Those that will benefit the most will be students that will be heading to Gunderson Middle School that would have otherwise traveled on more busier routes to school.
We were also fortunate enough to also be joined by Rayan Kim, a young student at Gunderson Middle School, who unfortunately was struck while riding his electric bike by a truck while heading to school.

Commissioner Segerblom and I along with the RTC welcomed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and U.S. Department of Transportation, local leaders, and our federal delegation as we broke ground on the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit Project.
This 12.5-mile road improvement project will focus on faster service, accessibility, comfort for all road users, and increased safety.

Earlier this month, we broke ground on Fire Station 39 located at 6855 Raven Ave, near Blue Diamond Road and South Rainbow, and is set to be completed during the summer of 2025. This fire station will protect families and businesses in the southwest including Mountain’s Edge and RNP neighborhoods.
This new station will enhance emergency coverage for our rapidly growing community, handling approximately 1,750 responses annually. With a focus on reducing response times, Fire Station 39 will play a vital role in ensuring our first responders arrive on scene within six minutes.

Team Jones and I along with LVMPD Spring Valley Area Command, Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Ed W. Clark High School, and our amazing community partners, came together for our first ‘Unity in the Community’ at Cashman Park!
Over the past few years, the Pennwood/Arville area has faced a troubling rise in gang activity and violence. This issue has become even more alarming as gangs have begun recruiting directly at Clark High School, targeting students in their own backyard. The unique geography of this neighborhood—surrounded by apartments and lacking accessible outlets for children—only exacerbates the problem. By building unity and trust among neighbors and with the LVMPD, we can create a safer environment where our children can thrive.
My office, alongside over 20 dedicated government and nonprofit entities, are working tirelessly to bring more resources and opportunities to the children and families in this area. Our goal is not only to support the youth but also to strengthen families, ensuring that everyone in our community has the chance to build a better future.
