Spring is winding up and the summer heat is almost here in District F. Team Jones and I were busy and this is a recap of what occurred around the district. Also, please remember to stay safe outdoors when you are spending prolonged periods of time in the sweltering heat. Always stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and wear sunscreen or protective clothing made for sun exposure. For more information on tips and resources feel free to visit snhd.info/BeattheHeatSNV.
As always, please feel free to contact me and my team by phone at (702) 455-3500 or by email at DistrictF@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also follow me @JustinJonesNV on Threads, Facebook, and Instagram to keep up with the latest events and news in the District.

Team Jones and I kickstarted the Spring Mountain Corridor Redevelopment Plan at Chinatown Plaza. The Plan aims to create a foundation and a vision for this iconic Asian American neighborhood in the heart of Las Vegas. Centered on placemaking and placekeeping, this plan is dedicated to creating a thriving, culturally authentic, and dynamic community for residents, families, and small businesses and positioning the Spring Mountain Corridor as a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike, with a focus on unique dining experiences, cultural attractions, and vibrant street life.

Team Jones and I would like to extend our congratulations to Signs of Hope who is celebrating their 50th year anniversary! We were fortunate enough to join them at their Denim Day Celebration Gala highlighting their anniversary and promoting community resources available to those affected by human trafficking and sexual violence and exploitation.
Signs of Hope (website) offers free resources to those impacted by sexual violence and exploitation. Their Prevention, Education, and Outreach Department offers free prevention education to students in Clark County Schools, public and private businesses, and other community partners. Also their human and labor exploitation department, RISE, works closely with various government agencies and law enforcement to combat human trafficking and provide support to survivors.

Team Jones proudly hosted an Intro to Pickleball class at Peace Park in Sandy Valley. This event was led by Russell Thompson from Desert Breeze Community Center, along with the three dedicated senior pickleball volunteers. They introduced a handful of residents to the exciting and rapidly growing sport of pickleball. The event was a great success, sparking significant interest among the residents. As a result, Clark County Parks & Recreation is now exploring the possibility of adding a pickleball program to its offering to meet the newfound demand. We are thrilled about the positive response and are looking forward to bringing more engaging events and activities to the rural areas in District F.

Children's Cabinet recently launched First5Nevada.org, a new family resource to ensure that every family in Nevada has access to the programs, resources and support they need to help their children aged 0-5 grow and thrive. The primary stages of a child’s development happen during their first five years of life, and experiences during this period have a lasting impact on health, and the ability to learn and succeed when they reach school age and beyond.
