Spring is finally here in District F! The month of May is also recognized as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month as we take the time to celebrate, recognize, and honor one of our fastest growing populations in Clark County. Let us pay tribute to the many cultural, societal, and historical ways that the AANHPI community has enriched our history. As always, please feel free to contact me and my team by phone at (702) 455-3500 or by email at DistrictF@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also follow me @JustinJonesNV on Threads, Facebook, and Instagram to keep up with the latest events and news in the District.

Robert Chandler, a proud Black Business Owner in a landscape dominated by national brands, recognized the challenges but saw in them the opportunity to instill in his sons the resilience, determination and skills to succeed at the highest level. Through his dedication to his family, his business, and his community, Robert Chandler exemplifies the qualities of a true leader, inspiring those around him to strive for greatness. I was fortunate enough to present Robert Chandler, the owner of the Spring Valley franchise "Yonutz" a proclamation recognizing his outstanding commitment to family, business, community, and his unwavering dedication to teaching, guiding, and uplifting those in his sphere of influence.

Thank you to Missoula’s Children’s Theatre for coming out to Sandy Valley! 50 students from Sandy Valley School were casted in the “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” play thanks to funding from the District F community sponsorship budget through my office. Great job to all the students, parents, and staff that participated. We can’t wait to have Missoula Children’s Theater back in Sandy Valley next year for the third year!

In coordination with The Jeremiah Program of Las Vegas & LVMPD Office of Community Engagement, we hosted a successful Spring Fling Family Fun Festival at Cashman Park earlier this month! We had over 30 community partners, gave out over 20,000 pounds of shelf-stable food, 250 pants, 2500 shirts, 300 packages of diapers, and so much more! Thank you to all of our sponsors and partners in helping us make the event free for the community. We can’t do any of this work alone!

Earth Day in District F was a huge success! We picked up over 410 pounds of trash at Mountain’s Edge Regional Park thanks to our partners at Get Outdoors Nevada and the 130 volunteers who attended. We had Two Cat Coffee, a local small business food truck, provide coffee and tea to our volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering with Get Outdoors Nevada, please visit their website: https://getoutdoorsnevada.org/

Team Jones hosted the Pet Vaccine Clinic with The Animal Foundation at the Sandy Valley Fire Station and Peace Park! We vaccinated 180 dogs and cats and offered grooming services. A huge thank you to the vets, groomers, and volunteers who came out to help. The residents of Sandy Valley was incredibly grateful for this amazing event, and we look forward to many more in rural areas.

In April, we hosted the third annual Section 10/11 Neighborhood Block Party alongside the neighbors in the community. This provided the neighbors and residents an opportunity to meet their neighbors and representatives, grab some food, and to enjoy their local park. Thank you to the Clark County Parks & Recreation team & the neighbors for making this event possible.
