If you have ever found yourself at a dead end when trying to take Jones from one side of Blue Diamond to the other, you are not alone. And, trying to find a way to get around the railroad tracks makes it even worse. But, relief is on the way! Commissioner Jones helped to break ground on the Jones/Blue Diamond connector on December 7th. The project will include a bridge over the train tracks along with street lighting, guard rails, much-needed storm drains, sewer infrastructure, and sidewalks. Construction is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2025.
Commissioner Jones presented a proclamation on December 8th to celebrate Enchant's return to the Las Vegas Valley. Located at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, Enchant is immersive Christmas experience that includes over 10 acres of activities including dazzling light sculptures, a maze, ice skating, games, food vendors, and much more. Get Outdoors Nevada, Team Jones, and a great group of volunteers worked together to help clean up Red Ridge Park on November 18th. There are many park clean-ups planned for 2024, so stay tuned for your opportunity to participate at a park in your neighborhood.
F1, Clark County, Commissioner Jones, and The Batista Foundation teamed up to give away food left over from the Las Vegas Grand Prix to those in need. A variety of fresh, frozen and prepackaged items were distributed - including chicken, brisket, guacamole and more. The 35 pallets of food were distributed the public at the Desert Breeze Community Center on November 20th.
