On August 17th, Commissioner Jones joined Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto, Congresswoman Susie Lee, RTC staff, and other special guests and dignitaries to raise a glass to zero emissions. Thanks to a $3.8 million grant rom the US Department of Transportation, the first two hydrogen fuel cell electric buses in Nevada were added to the RTC's bus fleet! The buses are a major step in reducing the community’s emissions footprint. In fact, hydrogen fuel is so clean that the water in the glasses they are holding is from the bus exhaust!

The Sandy Valley School has experienced some major changes and expansion over the past few years including construction of a new gym and elementary school building. The most recent additions of the high school buildings, baseball field, and football field were completed just in time to start the school year. Until these new facilities were constructed, the high school was all in portables and the baseball and football teams played at fields that weren't on the school campus. On August 25th, the first home football game of the season was played on the new field and the Sidewinders won 20-6!
