September 2023
Dear District G Residents,
The kids are back in school, we've got a busy Fall planned with lots of events, and hopefully our weather will start cooling down so we can get outside to enjoy it!
I will be co-hosting a Town Hall meeting on September 14th, along with City of Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero, City of Henderson's new Police Chief Hollie Chadwick, and our focused and dedicated Las Vegas Metro Captain of the Southeast Area Command, Captain Jeff Clark. Please come out and participate so we can talk about neighborhood issues such as Parks, Street Improvements, Code Enforcement, and Crime. The Town Hall will be on September 14 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Central Church located at 1001 New Beginnings Drive in Henderson. For more information, email my Community Liaison Blanca Vazquez at bva@clarkcountynv.gov. I hope to see you there.
It's time to change your watering clocks effective September 1, 2023. You can click on the SNWA flier below to check what days you are supposed to water. And remember, never water on Sunday.
We received some great input from one of our constituents. Joel suggested we have our newsletter images be "clickable" to take you to the website that is referenced. In cases where there is an affiliated website, we were able to make the images clickable, which in turn makes things easier for you. Thanks for the great suggestion, Joel!
As always, do not hesitate to email me at DistrictG@clarkcountynv.gov or call my office at (702) 455-3500 with any questions or concerns you may have. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instagram and X (previously Twitter).

Continuing the community’s year-round effort to conserve our most precious natural resource, fall watering restrictions are in effect September 1 through October 31.
Fall watering restrictions limit landscape irrigation to three days per week. Find your assigned watering days and get information on seasonal watering restrictions here.
As the transition month, early September can still bring some high temperatures of 100F or more, but they come late in the day and don’t persist. Plants or areas of lawn that show stress may be given supplemental water using a handheld hose, which is always allowed.
Assigned watering days are mandatory for all customers and may also help avoid costly water bills. Running your landscape irrigation system outside your assigned days is considered water waste and may result in a water-waste fine.

September is National Preparedness Month, and Clark County officials are reminding residents about resources available to help them prepare for emergencies of all types.
“Preparedness Month is a good time of year to think about what your needs are in an emergency, whether you are an older person living alone or a family with children and pets,” said Clark County Fire Department Deputy Chief Billy Samuels, who oversees the county’s Emergency Management Division. “Fires, floods and other emergencies are unpredictable by nature, but there are some basic steps everyone can take to help themselves in an emergency situation.”
The top hazards identified in Southern Nevada by local emergency managers include communicable disease, wildfire, flooding, earthquakes and extreme heat. Power outages also can happen sporadically.
Local emergency managers encourage residents to download the free Southern Nevada Community Preparedness App to help prepare and plan for emergencies. The app offers free weather alerts, safety tips and resources to help families create personalized emergency preparedness plans and disaster supply kits. The public also can sign up to receive free public safety alerts via text or email through a community notification system called CodeRED. Click on the flier below to create an account. Both tools have apps available from the Apple Store or Google Play. More details are on the Fire Department’s website pages at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov along with safety tips for a variety of situations.
