District G Residents,

I'm happy to announce our Spring Job Fair is back - bigger and better than ever!  This year's job fair will have over 100 participating employers who will be offering more than 15,000 jobs!  See the flyer below for more information.

While we are experiencing one of our wettest winters in recent memory, we do need all the rain we can get.  We appreciate those of you that are doing everything you can to help preserve water by watering your lawns just one day a week.  Food for thought...during this rainy stretch, you may not even have to water the allotted one day per week.  

There are lots of fun and educational events going on throughout District G.  Check out this newsletter for all the details.

Annual Spring Job Fair in Full Bloom

Come join me and Commissioner Segerblom on Friday, March 24 for our annual Spring Job Fair, the largest in-person job fair in Southern Nevada!  It is free and open to the public.  We expect over 100 employers offering more than 15,000 jobs.  Many employers will be hiring on the spot. Make sure to dress to impress and bring copies of your resume. The event will be held at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority West Hall from 9:00am - 2:00pm.  You can pre-register by scanning the code below or click here for quick and easy check-in. Family Fun Bike Ride

Despite the threatening weather, we had such a great time last Saturday, February 25th, at Silver Bowl Park.  We held a Family Fun Bike Ride event that included a BMX demonstration, free food trucks, free bike helmets, free bike safety check, a raffle giveaway for 40 children's bikes and more!  We then took a 1.3 mile bike ride around the park.  Thanks to those of you who turned out - we hope you had as much fun as we did!

SPRING Into Water-Smart Planting

Even though we live in the desert, a lush and vibrant landscape can be obtained while still maintaining a water-smart lifestyle and being a good steward of the community’s water resources. There is a large selection of desert-friendly plants and trees that thrive in the Mojave Desert and if you need some inspiration this spring, visit a local botanical garden, like the one found at the Springs Preserve, to find a wide variety of them on display. Also, get the help needed to make a desert-friendly landscape and a more water-efficient irrigation system with the experts. The Southern Nevada Water Authority, in partnership with the Springs Preserve, is offering FREE classes on how to select the right irrigation components, and design and install a water-smart drip system. More information about these classes can be found at springspreserve.org.

Paradise Recreation Center, located at 4775 McLeod Drive (McLeod and Tropicana), offers a variety of amenities to our Clark County District G residents, including an Early Childhood Development Program. For more information on what's happening at Paradise Rec, call (702) 455-7513.

Whitney Recreation Center, located at 5712 E. Missouri Avenue (East Tropicana and Boulder Highway), strives each month to provide fun, educational, relevant and interesting activities and field trips for our District G kids, families and seniors. Big West Basketball Tournament

Catch all the exciting men's and women's basketball at the Big West Championships. Five days of non-stop action with the winners going on to the NCAA Tournament to participate in March Madness. For tickets to all the games click here.

Big Three Basketball Showdown

Join us for a 3-on-3 basketball tournament highlighting the best basketball teams in the Vegas valley. Each team will compete in a 3-game guarantee tournament which includes prizes for winners. Have some fun at our outdoor egg hunt! You will receive a map and stickers at check in. Once you have found all the eggs and placed the sticker on your map's location, you can redeem the completed map for a prize at the Bird Preserve Gift Shop! 55th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival & Parade | March 10-12

One of the largest St. Patrick's Day events in the region is returning this year with three days of celebration! There is something for everyone including a carnival, parade, car show, and amazing entertainment with a headlining band straight from Dublin. Presented by Sons & Daughters of Erin Southern Nevada. FREE VGK Watch Party! | March 23

Join us on the Water Street Plaza to watch our Golden Knights on the giant screen take on the Calgary Flames at 6 pm on March 23. Chance the mascot will be there, along with Vegas Vivas, giveaway items and a DJ.   Click here for more information.

Spring Reads Book Exchange at Paseo Verde Library

Learn from the experts with SCORE's small business training workshops.
