November 2022
Dear District G Residents,
I'm sure many of you know that our Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department lost one of their own on October 13, 2022. South Central Area Command Officer Truong Thai, a veteran police officer who served our community with METRO for 23 years, was senselessly killed while on duty. He is survived by a daughter. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and brothers and sisters at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. May he rest in peace. Let us keep the Thai family in our prayers.
As always, do not hesitate to email me at DistrictG@ClarkCountyNV.gov or call my office at (702) 455-3500 with any questions or concerns you may have. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

What a great National Night Out event on October 4th! Hundreds of neighbors came out to meet with police officers and enjoy a night filled with fun, music, raffle prizes, a climbing wall, free food and a great time! Thank you LVMPD Convention Center Area Command, The Harmon at 370 and all of the other partners that made National Night Out such a success.
Thousands of trick or treaters came out to our Trunk or Treat at Silver Bowl Park on October 27th! We had lots of activities including face painting, climbing rock walls, bounce houses, live music from School or Rock, a dance contest, a best kids costume contest, car decorating contest, and tons of free candy! Thank you to LVMPD's Southeast Area Command, the STOP Coalition, Clark County Parks & Rec, Walmart, Clark County Fire Station, Abuela's Tacos, Can't Dutch This Fries, and The Corn Dog Company! And of course all the folks that came out to decorate their cars and hand out candy to the kids.

After receiving numerous inquiries from our tennis-playing community, I am delighted to announce new tennis courts are being constructed at Sunset Park. Our groundbreaking was October 26th, 2022, and we expect completion in late Spring of 2023. The tennis courts will feature 8 new courts, a new plaza area with concrete benches & shade shelters, bleachers, and a new drinking fountain.

At the October 18th Board of County Commissioner's meeting, I recognized Iglesia Ni Cristo of Henderson for their contribution and support toward a peaceful and productive Clark County community. Care For Humanity is a worldwide activity of the church in which the church reaches out to communities in need. Iglesia Ni Cristo maintains its congregations and missions in 163 countries and territories and its membership consists of 150 ethnic groups and nationalities. The church established a congregation in the city of Henderson, Nevada in April of 1982.
October 25th marked the launch of a new effort in Southern Nevada to fight sex trafficking and help victims. St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s mission is to transform the lives of abused and at-risk children, young adults, and families by empowering them to create new choices and new hope in a caring community. "The Healing Center" is a first-of-its-kind center that will build on the 56-year legacy of the charity by providing safe therapeutic homes and a specialized nurturing recovery program for children who have been forced or manipulated into having sex for money.
I was honored to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for such an important addition to our district.
