SEPTEMBER 2022
Kicking off the new school year on Aug. 8, the Commissioner continued his tradition of welcoming students back at Helen Jydstrup Elementary, and reminding drivers to slow down and take extra precaution around schools.
"With the start of another school year, it is important we all take extra care and slow down especially in school zones and when students are present. Watch for reduced speed limits, no U-turns or passing, obey stop signs on school busses, and make sure your kids are wearing a correctly-fit helmet. Together, we can make sure all students have a safe return to school," said Commissioner Naft.
In conjunction with local partners, Commissioner Naft also provided bike helmets, ensuring the kids are equipped with the proper safety apparatus to take on the new school year.

“I am excited to host Grandparents Day at our Flamingo Senior Center to honor our communities grandparents while celebrating their grandchildren,” said Commissioner Naft. “All are welcome to partake in the live entertainment, art projects, food and games as we celebrate the occasion.”
