Happy Holidays, Neighbors!
I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with your families and are decorating for the holidays. As we approach Winter Break, I want to give a special thank you to all the teachers, administrators, and drivers for taking care of our kids these past few months despite tremendous setbacks from the pandemic. I wish all District F residents a wonderful, safe holiday season!
As always, please feel free to contact me and my team by phone at (702) 455-3500 or by email at ccdistf@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also follow me @JustinJonesNV on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest events in the District.

Christine Brown recently received a well deserved Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of being selected as the Rural Division EMS person of the year for 2020. Not only is she a valued member of the Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department, she is also the Sandy Valley 4-H Club leader, an active member of the Sandy Valley Community Church, a home-schooling mom to her 5 children, and an all-around fabulous person. She has a smile and a kind word for everyone she meets and can find the silver lining in even the darkest of clouds. Thank you, Christine, for making Sandy Valley and all of Clark County a better place to live.

Commissioner Jones is committed to making travel in the SW valley easier and safer - and steps towards reaching that goal are happing every day. On December 2nd, the new traffic signal was turned on at Fort Apache and Patrick - an intersection that sees an average of 30,000 vehicles a day.
Work also began on the widening of Fort Apache from Warm Springs to Huntington Cove Park. The improvements will including additional lanes, a dedicated bicycle lane, flood control storm drains, and new traffic signals. The construction is expected to be completed by next summer. The Sandy Valley Community kicked off the holiday season with their first-ever Winter Festival. A light parade down the main street in town ended at the Park where Santa lit the community Christmas tree. He was lifted up to the top of the tree by one of Valley Electric's boom trucks. Residents then enjoyed food, hot chocolate, crafts, visits with Santa, a bounce house, and plenty of small-town camaraderie. The event was a joint effort between Commission District F, Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Clark County RPM and Parks & Recreation, Sandy Mesquite Valley Development Association, Sandy Valley Community Church, and many others.
