This October, I’m looking forward to all the Fall festivals, the changing leaves, and of course, the pumpkin patches. So get those pumpkin carving tools sharpened up and the costumes ready for the kids (and adults, if you’re a kid at heart) and have a Happy Halloween!
As always, please feel free to contact me and my team by phone at (702) 455-3500 or by email at ccdistf@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also follow me @JustinJonesNV on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest events in the District.

The District F Resident of the Month is Eric Jeng. Eric is Deputy Director of Outreach for !the Asian Community Development Council and Deputy Director of One APIA Nevada and is a powerhouse within the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Eric has led a team that has registered an unprecedented number of AAPI voters and educated and activated the AAPI community to be a critical voice on federal, state and local issues, and also serves as a District F representative on the Community Development Advisory Committee. On any given weekend, you’ll find Eric hopping between a dozen different organizing events (many of which he organized) -- even the occasional goat petting zoo!

We’ve received a lot of calls, emails, and messages these last few weeks regarding traffic flow in the Southwest area. My team and I met with the Department of Public Works to address these issues as the traffic is affecting residents’ commute to work and ours as well. Here are some of our wins:
Fort Apache: Clark County has been making capital improvements on Fort Apache, from Warm Springs to Tropicana, over much of the last year. Our contractor will be laying pavement in the next couple weeks, then striping. Traffic control (aka cones) needs to stay in place at this time for inspections, but we expect the project to wrap up by the first week of November, including activation of the new traffic signal at Patrick.
Durango/215: we successfully changed the traffic control setup for the Uncommon projects (which is causing the traffic flow to be one lane each way) to require work to be performed at night. They will not be placing cones before 9 PM.
We will also be monitoring future Traffic Control Plans (TCP) from contractors to minimize impacts to travel in the Southwest valley.
We certainly understand everyone’s frustration and are working to make sure this issue does not happen in the future. Thank you to those who reached out with your comments and have worked with my team and me to get a resolution

With the reintroduction of the Bronco, Ford also created the Bronco Off-Roadeo experience. New Bronco owners can choose one of 4 locations across the US to take a driving course to learn all about the features and abilities of their new vehicles. In addition to Texas, Moab, and New Hampshire, there is one right here in Southern Nevada near Mountain Springs. Located on the site of the former Kimball Scout Camp at Mt. Potosi, the Off-Roadeo experience not only shows owners how to use their vehicles, it also emphasizes responsible outdoor recreation and preservation of our public lands. Welcome to the neighborhood!
