August 2021
Dear District G Residents,
These past few weeks have been a challenging time for our community. With COVID-19 cases rising daily, COVID-related hospitalizations are increasing, challenging our medical system's ability to respond to other medical needs. We must come together to help save lives, jobs and our economy. You can help by getting vaccinated. There are numerous vaccination locations open every day to provide FREE vaccines to you, your family and friends. See below for more information on school pop-up clinics and click here for other locations offering the vaccine. You can also visit the Southern Nevada Health District's website by clicking here.
We will never forget what happened in Las Vegas on October 1st, 2017. Now, Clark County is working to create a lasting memorial that remembers the victims, honors the survivors and first responders, and celebrates the resilience of our community. Your input is critical to the success of this effort and we invite you to click here so you can take a survey. The survey is also available in Spanish.
There are exciting things happening at Whitney Park. We are adding a new Aquatic Facility that we know our residents will welcome with open arms. Check out this newsletter for more details.
Last month, Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Commissioner Tick Segerblom and myself held the County's largest job fair to date. The Las Vegas Convention Center provided event space for us to host over 125 employers and over 5,000 job seekers in attendance. Hundreds of job seekers were hired on the spot and many hundreds more received job interviews. Congratulations to those who were able to find jobs and thank you to our partners and employers for participating.
As always, do not hesitate to email me at ccdistg@clarkcountynv.gov or call my office at (702) 455-3500 with any questions or concerns you may have. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
