Expanded Early Voting Begins Today Across Santa Fe County
Santa Fe County, NM – Expanded Early Voting for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election begins today, with voters now able to cast a ballot at nine locations across Santa Fe County.
Expanded Early Voting locations will be open through May 30, giving voters more flexibility, shorter lines, and more opportunities to vote on their own schedule before Election Day.
“Early voting is on-time voting,” said County Clerk Katharine E. Clark. “When voters choose to vote early, they help reduce Election Day lines and make the process smoother for everyone — especially neighbors who may only be able to vote on Election Day itself. If your schedule allows, we encourage voters to take advantage of early voting options rather than waiting until the last minute on Election Day."
The Clerk’s Office is encouraging voters who are able to vote early to view it as a community service. Every voter who casts a ballot early helps free up space and reduce congestion on Election Day for community members who may only be able to vote that day due to work schedules, caregiving responsibilities, transportation challenges, or other barriers.

Families voting early can also participate in KidsVote: Practice Makes Future Voters, a hands-on civic education initiative available at the Clerk’s Office and Nancy Rodriguez Community Center during early voting.
Children accompanying a parent or guardian can cast a fun practice ballot using real voting equipment and tabulators while learning how elections work in a welcoming environment. KidsVote was designed both to help build lifelong civic habits and to make voting easier for families by allowing children to participate alongside parents or guardians without the need for additional childcare.
Voters are encouraged to preview their sample ballot before arriving at a voting location by visiting NMVOTE.org. Reviewing a sample ballot ahead of time helps shorten wait times and keeps lines moving efficiently for the entire community.
