Clerk Katharine E. Clark and the Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office Invite Families to Participate in KidsVote During Early Voting
Santa Fe County, NM – Clerk Katharine E. Clark and the Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office are excited to once again offer KidsVote: Practice Makes Future Voters during early voting for the 2026 Primary Election. KidsVote gives children the opportunity to experience the voting process firsthand while accompanying a parent or guardian to the polls.
During early voting, children can cast a practice ballot on fun, kid-friendly contests using real voting equipment, including official tabulators. Kids also receive an “I Voted” sticker and learn how elections work in a welcoming, hands-on environment.
KidsVote is designed to help build lifelong civic habits by introducing young people to voting early. The program also helps make voting more accessible for families by allowing children to participate alongside parents and guardians without the need for additional childcare.
“Voting is a learned habit,” said Clerk Katharine E. Clark. “Programs like KidsVote help young people become familiar with the process early while creating a positive and engaging experience for families at the polls.”
