Disability Pride Month Flag Raising and Proclamation Ceremony
Join us on Today, July 1, to kick off Disability Pride Month and commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with a ceremonial flag-raising and a reading of the official City proclamation. This event is free and open to the public.

Second Annual Disability Pride Parade and Festival
Be part of Santa Fe’s Second Annual Disability Pride Parade and family-friendly festival as we promote awareness, champion rights, and honor the contributions of individuals with disabilities, celebrating community, visibility, and pride. Individuals, families, and organizations are invited to march in honor of the ADA’s legacy and the strength of the disability pride movement. Community resource tabling and entertainment on the plaza. This event is free and open to the public.

Third Annual Accessibility Awards
Celebrate the individuals and organizations promoting disability access and inclusion in New Mexico. The Accessibility Awards recognize leadership, innovation, and a commitment to equity. Green Waste and Solid Waste Days
Santa Fe, NM - In support of the Great American Cleanup and ongoing wildfire prevention efforts, the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners has approved Resolution No. 2025-031, offering free tire recycling, solid waste, and green waste disposal opportunities throughout 2025. These efforts aim to promote community beautification and encourage residents to create defensible space around their homes.

Toss No Mas – Free Solid Waste Disposal Day

Eligibility: Valid County punch permit
Locations: All County Convenience Centers, including Eldorado, Jacona, La Cienega, Nambe, San Marcos, Stanley, and Tesuque.

Free Green Waste Drop-Off Days
To help reduce wildfire risk, residents with valid Solid Waste permits can dispose of green waste for free at Stanley, Jacona, and Eldorado Convenience Centers on the following dates:

 Santa Fe County Seeks Members for New Independent Salary Commission

Santa Fe, NM – The Santa Fe County (County) Board of County Commissioners (Board) is reissuing its call for qualified individuals to serve on the newly established Independent Salary Commission (Commission), an advisory body responsible for evaluating and recommending salaries for county elected officials and commissioners. The Commission will conduct salary evaluations in odd-numbered years, with recommendations due December 1 of those years.
Serving on the Independent Salary Commission represents a unique opportunity to directly shape the future of public service in Santa Fe County. This is more than an administrative role; it is a critical civic responsibility central to effective local governance. By evaluating and recommending appropriate compensation for elected officials, Commission members will help ensure that Santa Fe County attracts and retains talented public servants. The Commission's work will support a transparent and objective process that balances fair compensation with fiscal responsibility, maintaining public trust through a rigorous, data-driven approach.
The Board established the Commission via Resolution No. 2025-54. The Commission will consist of seven members: five appointed by the Board and two selected by those five appointees. To be eligible, candidates must reside in Santa Fe County and meet one or more of the following qualifications:

Community Representative: A member of a community organization, a former elected official, or a county commissioner

Legal Professional: A current or retired attorney or judge

Human Resources Expert: A human resources or employment consultant

Executive Management: An individual with high-level executive management experience

At-Large Member: An appointee serving in a general capacity
