Catches of the week

The following reports came in late but deserve a mention:

  • Carlsbad Municipal Lake: Jaxon Sifuentes, 22 months, of Artesia, with help from his gramma, Celina Aguirre, caught his first trout Feb. 14. He was using his new fishing combo with PowerBait.
  • Chama River: Josiah Coriz, age 7, of Ojo Caliente, caught his first fish, a rainbow trout Feb. 18. He was fishing the river in Abiquiu and using worms.
  • Oasis Park Lake: Andre Garcia, age 8, of Clovis, caught four rainbow trout Feb. 18. He was using PowerBait.
  • Tingley Beach: Aaden Bitsie, age 8, of Albuquerque, caught a 14-inch rainbow trout Feb. 18. He was fishing the Youth Pond and using green garlic PowerBait.
