*Clean socks - singles, worn, outgrown, floppy elastics, etc. (yes, they can have holes), all sizes, for an activity at the Spring Carnival. Also collecting,
*Fiber Fill - opened bags, full bags, lightly used
*Catnip - Please ask your cat's permission first.
A collection box is in the lobby of the 4-H Center. Act now! Only until April 11!

How To Fill Out a 4-H Application: April 18, 2024
7-8pm, ZOOM ONLY, Register by April 17, 2024.
Calling all Somerset County 4-H Members 8th grade and up. How To Fill Out a 4-H Application will be held via Zoom on April 18th from 7-8pm. Learn how to properly fill out a Somerset County 4-H application. Applications that will be discussed are, 4-H scholarship application, Outstanding 4-H member application, 4-H conferences application, 4-H congress application, and many more! If you are interested in joining, please email the 4-H office to register:

Earth Day Hike & Scavenger Hunt: April 21, 2024
Rain or shine. Register by April 17, 2024.
Join us for an outdoor adventure to celebrate Earth Day! Gain curiosity, wonder, and appreciation for nature by taking a closer look at our planet. Sunday, April 21 from 11am-1pm at Ann Van Middlesworth Park in Hillsborough. This event is free and open to youth in grades 1-5.

Prepare for Fair Meet & Mingle: April 30, 2024
6:30pm-8:30pm, RSVP by April 23, 2024.
Join us on April 30th to meet and mingle with experienced and new volunteers to learn how to prepare for the 4-H Fair. We encourage all 4-H volunteers, leaders, parents, and teens to attend!

Join 4-H at the Somerset Patriots
We are looking for volunteers to help run the 1st Base Concession Stand at TD Bank Park in Bridgewater for Somerset Patriots games this spring and summer. No experience required. Must be 16 years or older.
Dates needed: Saturday May 4th, Saturday June 1st, Sunday June 23rd, and Saturday July 20th

4-H Got Talent Contest: Entries Due May 10, 2024
The 4-H Fair Entertainment Committee is celebrating “4-H Fairytale” on the Showmobile daily from 4:30-5:30pm with the “4-H Got Talent Contest”! We know there’s a lot of talent in 4-H and want to showcase it at this year’s Fair! Let us know by Friday, May 10, if you’re up to the challenge by contacting SomersetCounty4HEntertainment@gmail.com.
Then come on May 17, 7-8pm to the 4-H Center’s gym for your prearranged audition. Any 4-H’er can step up to sing, dance or perform their talent at the Fair’s daily “4-H Got Talent Contest” with a Top Three Finale on Friday, Aug 9, 5:30-6pm on the Showmobile stage.

The Dawn Christy Memorial Grant Program
Dawn Christy was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, 4-H member, 4-H leader, farmer and entrepreneur. Sadly, Dawn lost her battle with a very aggressive form of leukemia in June of 2023. To honor her memory and help individuals who embrace her courage, drive, and strength we have created the Dawn Christy Memorial Grant Program.
To apply, fill out the Dawn Christy Memorial Grant Program Application by May 31st. Mail or hand deliver the application to c/o Dawn Christy Memorial Grant Program, (the Somerset County 4-H Office) 310 Milltown Road Bridgewater NJ 08807.

Join us for a weekend of hiking, archery, boating, fishing, crafts, games, a campfire with s’mores, and more! A great way to relax and meet other 4-H families.

Leaders Needed - Senior Council
We are looking for a new leader or leaders to help run the Senior Council. Senior Council is a teen community service club for 8th-13th grade. The club meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 pm and one additional day later in the month for a community service project. If you are 21 and older and interested in becoming a leader – please reach out to the 4-H Office.

Food Bank Network of Somerset County Accepting Donations
There is a large bin in the lobby of the 4-H Center where club members, parents, and leaders can drop off items. Please watch expiration dates as they cannot take expired items. This is a great community service opportunity for clubs who are looking for a project and helps out local families. Any questions, please feel free to reach out to Shailja at mathur@njaes.rutgers.edu
