NJOHSP Shares 2026 Threat Assessment as State Prepares for Major Events
The agency released its 2026 Threat Assessment, delivering a detailed snapshot of New Jersey’s threat environment for the year ahead.
Now in its 18th edition, the report highlights emerging counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and cybersecurity threats and trends, providing a critical resource that helps public- and private-sector stakeholders and the public stay informed and prepared.

NJOHSP Director Thomas Hauck provided remarks at Peace Islands Institute's 14th Annual Public Safety Appreciation Dinner on January 28 in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Hauck highlighted the importance of preparedness, interagency collaboration, and service, while recognizing the evolving challenges facing public safety professionals and the value of strong community relationships in addressing them. The annual event celebrates service, partnership, and community.
Reproductive Health Security Grant Program Application Period Closing Soon
The application period for the Reproductive Health Security Grant Program (RHSGP) will close February 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. NJOHSP, through its Grants Management Bureau, administers the program.
The RHSGP provides funding to eligible reproductive health care facilities, licensed by the State of New Jersey and in good standing, that provide reproductive health care services and determined to be at a high risk of unlawful activity, including acts of violence, property damage, vandalism, and harassment.
Recipients can use the funding to purchase security services, physical security equipment, preparedness training, emergency planning, and cybersecurity assets.

Enjoy a Cup of Chai with a Cop
NJOHSP and the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) are hosting a "Chai with a Cop" event on February 22, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara in Port Reading, NJ, as part of their outreach to the state's South Asian residents.
NJOHSP and NJSP also host "Nosh with a Cop" for Jewish communities, and "Café Con Leche with a Cop," geared toward the Hispanic population. The initiative provides the state’s diverse and underserved communities an opportunity to engage with law enforcement to strengthen partnerships, foster open dialogue, and reinforce our shared commitment to community trust and public safety.

NJOHSP staff will be available at Kean University to discuss potential career paths within the agency, focusing on roles in counterterrorism and counterintelligence.
