to celebrate the uniqueness that the city has to offer. “The highlight for Art All Day 2023 is that
we have more live muralists and live demonstrations that will be taking place, " says Addison
Vincent, the Artistic Director of Artworks. This initiative is led by Jonathon Conner (LANK)
Artworks’, Public Projects Manager. This speaks to the organization's initiative to develop
community led creativity in the capital city. Live painting locations include One Up One Down

(971) 235-4393 | jgoldfedder@gmail.com | westwindsorarts.org

Long-time friends and collaborators, Artists Audrey Jakab, MFA in Sculpture, Yale
School of Art and Joseph Goldfedder, MFA in Sculpture, Virginia Commonwealth University
have created a series of large-scale quilts and acrylic paintings for an exhibition entitled “The
Tapestry of Life: Perspectives on Healing and Wellness” on display at Merwick Rehab Hospital
from Sept. 12 – Nov. 3. Each artist’s work captures their unique perspectives on
wellness and the life’s healing force both subtle yet bold.

Jakab’s work focuses on the beauty of simplicity and nuance, incorporating texture, color and geometry in her quilts patterns while inviting quiet contemplation. Goldfedder’s complements yet contrasts Jakab’s work by focusing on the energetic quality of movement and chaos. His paintings incorporate vibrant color and figurative imagery exploring energy of the human biofield. Together, both artists hope this exhibition will offer viewers at Merwick Rehab an opportunity to contemplate their own journey towards healing and wellness through a sense of delight, wonder and awe.

“Summer Sleep” Exhibit – Public Reception,

Anne Reid ‘72 Gallery at Princeton Day School, 650 Great Road, Princeton

(609) 924-6700 | annereid72gallery@pds.org | pds.org

Anne Reid ’72 Gallery at Princeton Day School presents Summer Sleep, an exhibition by Amorelle Jacox and Shauna Steinbach. The new exhibit will be open to the public between Sept. 6 – Dec. 1.

The show’s title Summer Sleep was suggested by the artists in the creation of this exhibition. The phrase comes from the term estivation, which is a period of hibernation that some animals, often reptiles and amphibians, go into when conditions are particularly hot and dry. The artists were drawn to the phrase and its indication towards a primal reaction to heat. The title suggests a conservation of energy, a period of transition and the inevitability of seasons coming and going.
