New Jersey American Water just issued an alert this morning for emergency repairs in Irvington, affecting Maplewood. See below for their message:

Irvington / Maplewood : Emergency Repairs

This is an urgent notification from American Water. Our crews are making emergency repairs due to a main break beginning on 6/24/26 in Irvington. You reside in the affected area and may experience discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure or no water. Repairs are expected to take approximately 10 hours to complete. When work is completed, you may experience temporary changes in your water. For discoloration, run cold water at the lowest level of your house. For cloudy water, run water at the highest level of your house. The condition should clear after 3 to 5 minutes of running water. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this impact to their water service.
