Happy Wednesday, Maplewood. April is flying by, and summer will be here before you know it. Our Township camps still have some spots open, so grab your spot today at our online Rec Desk. Oh, and we are still hiring for a Pool Manager, so get that application in today.

INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

Maplewood Township broke ground on their Inclusive Playground at Maplecrest Park last week!

The new playground will be located near the existing playgrounds; and includes bathroom upgrades in the nearby shelter house. It’s on track to be finished this summer with the help of a $750,000 grant from New Jersey Green Acres and funding from Maplewood's Open Space Trust Fund.

SPRINGFIELD SPEED LIMIT

Springfield Avenue has a new speed limit! The speed limit along Springfield Avenue has been reduced from 35 mph to 30 mph.

This change was made after evaluating vehicle speeds along the corridor, with an interest in improving safety for all modes of transportation.

Please do your part & drive safely!

MAPLEWOOD SUMMER OF SOCCER

Get ready for a summer of fun as Maplewood gears up for the FIFA World Cup to land in New Jersey this summer.

We kick things off at Springfield Avenue's Annual MayFest on Sunday, May 17, when the NYNJ Host Committee will be rolling up their Double Decker party bus for all sorts of fun.

And you'll want to clear your calendar for Thursday, June 25, when Maplewood will kick the evening off with a family movie (Air Bud: World Pup) in Memorial Park, followed by a street-wide watch party along Maplewood Avenue.
