2025 GENERAL ELECTION QUICK FACTS
It's officially election season, and our first deadline is less than a month away! TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14TH is your last day to register to vote for the General Election.
Registration forms (https://www.essexclerk.com/Forms) must be postmarked to the County Clerk or received by Municipal Clerks by this date - or you can register online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register by this date.

SPRINGFIELD AVENUE BUSINESSES OPENÂ
Springfield Avenue is getting a milling & paving refresh on weekdays through through Sept. 29, but Springfield Avenue businesses will remain open! Residents can use free public parking in municipal lots at Indiana Street & Springfield Avenue, Hilton Avenue & Prospect Street, Yale Street & Springfield Avenue, and Tuscan Road & Springfield Ave.Â

Join us in Maplewood Village on Saturdays (5-9 pm through Sept. 27) as we turn our quaint little stretch of Maplewood Avenue (b/t Inwood & Highland) into our own little Italian piazza - creating a pedestrian plaza filled with outdoor dining, live music & extended shopping hours.

FIELD HOCKEY
Join us this fall to grow, practice and learn all about about Field Hockey (a fall sport at Columbia High School).The new program will be taught by current CHS Field Hockey players. You can register today, along with a rotating slate of other youth sports, at our Maplewood Rec Desk.

AUDITION & SHOW DETAILS: In-Person Auditions: TONIGHT! Wednesday, September 24th, 6 - 8pm at The Woodland (60 Woodland Rd., Maplewood) Video Submission Auditions: Received between September 24th - 30th at 12 midnight.
Audition Rules: 3 min. per act, no drum kits, and no solos. Open to anyone ages 9 - 99 in Maplewood/South Orange and surrounding communities. We encourage up-tempo, upbeat, fun, or funny acts, and anything multi-cultural or generational. Time Commitment: One in-person dress rehearsal and then the show!
Follies Show: Thursday, October 23rd, 7:30 - 9pm ($10 tickets, doors open 7pm) at The Woodland (60 Woodland Rd., Maplewood) Tech/Dress Rehearsal (mandatory): Wednesday, October 22nd, 6:30 - 8:30pm.

FALL FARMERS MARKET
The weather is cooling off, but our 2025 Maplewood Farmers Market will kick it well into fall, until Nov. 24. Our 2025 market features fresh produce, meats & eggs; local food vendors; free monthly health screenings; and live music on select weekends.
Our market runs every Monday, from 2-7 pm, through Nov. 24, at 1662 Springfield Avenue (near the Springfield Gazebo). Follow our Farmers Market on Instagram for details on vendors, live music & more.

UTILITY & TAX PAYMENT DEADLINES - Just a reminder, the 30-day grace period for your sewer/stormwater utility bills ends tomorrow, September 25, 2025 & your final quarterly tax payment of the year is due November 1, 2025 (the 10-day grace period ends November 10, 2025). The easiest way to make both utility & tax payments is with our online AUTOPAY system. You can also pay by cash or check (made out to “Township of Maplewood”) in person at our Tax Office, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4:30 pm. We cannot take forms of payments like debit, credit, ApplePay, etc. in person; & we do not have the ability to make change at this time. Get full details on all the ways to pay on our website.
SOCIAL SERVICES HELP - Need help applying for social services online? Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey provides free assistance to sign up for housing assistance, medical appointments, food stamps/WIC, disability benefits & more. Check in at the Hilton Branch Library (1688 Springfield Avenue) on Saturdays, 11 am -1 pm, to get started.
