NEW JERSEY AMERICAN WATER
New Jersey American Water (NJAW) continues to replace lead and galvanized steel water service lines throughout town. Per NJAW, property owners are to be notified prior to the replacement and given an opportunity to schedule the replacement at a time that is convenient for them. After replacement, residents will be provided a handout on what to do after your lead service line has been replaced, which includes important instructions regarding immediate and maintenance flushing, as well as use of a water pitcher provided by NJAW. The full content of this handout is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, with additional resources available in other languages.
All contact with residents will be made by NJAW and/or their contractor, Montana Construction. Residents with questions can contact NJAW by email: leadfreenj@amwater.com, and obtain more information by visiting: www.newjerseyamwater.com/leadfacts. Maplewood Township also has a page on our website devoted to community meetings, information and background on the project.
Everyone's favorite music & art festival, Maplewoodstock, returns to the Maplewood Memorial Park Amphitheater this Saturday, July 12 (12-10 pm) & Sunday, July 13 (12-9:30 pm).

They are now sending out a second round of letter for affected property owners who have not yet complied with the law.
