General Fund Balance

The General Fund ended the 2021-23 biennium with a $1.49 billion balance. The legislative estimate from April was $1.20 billion. The increase is due to strong revenue collections in May and June and more General Fund turnback from agencies than originally estimated. The additional General Fund turnback is primarily due to agencies receiving more federal funds than anticipated to offset general fund spend.
