I was born and raised in North Dakota. I have lived in Jamestown for the past 38 years.
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time or what do you do to relax?
I enjoy gardening, camping and spending time with family and friends. I am a member of our contemporary band at Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown and find worshiping one of my key self-care rituals.
- How long have you been a care coordinator (or doing this kind of work)?
I started my career as South Central Human Service Center in 1990 as a case manager. I provided case management and outreach for all of Region VI. I worked at South Central Human Service Center for 38 years until I retired Dec. 31, 2024.

Could you share what inspired you to become a 1915(i) provider?
With my experience at South Central Human Service Center, I had firsthand knowledge of the need our great state has in regard to serving our most vulnerable population.
I was very fortunate to have mentors in my life that challenged me to think bigger and to dream. I was very lucky to have people who believed in me - Deb Gletne, Jeff Stenseth, Dr. Cramer and Mary Zenker.
I have always had a heart for wanting to serve individuals and to help people walk through this journey we call life.
Mary and I co-own and operate L & M Care Coordination and we both have the desire to try and make life a little better for someone and walk alongside people and support them in their choices.
- How do you tailor your services to meet the unique needs of each member?
Our philosophy at L & M is to look at the person, who they are, where they want to be and how we can help them achieve their goals.
We look at the whole person. We believe in the 10 principles of recovery and try to incorporate those principles to be able to better serve the individual.
We meet the person where they are in their journey and walk alongside them. We like to focus on an individual’s strengths and be mindful of past trauma events. More than that, we try to empower the individual and instill hope for their future.
