Stage 2 Water Conservation

Stage 2

Due to the severe drought conditions that have persisted for more than six months throughout our region and across the Southeast, Union County is shifting to Stage 2 of our Water Shortage Response Plan effective today, Friday, May 15. The last time Union County implemented Stage 2 conditions was in 2009.

The County’s Water Shortage Response Plan calls for new restrictions on water use during Stage 2 as well as increased water rates for some customers, including residential customers with excessive water use of more than 10,000 gallons per month. The conservation rates that will be used during Stage 2 are published on Union County Water's Union Conserves page. Customers are encouraged to conserve water to help keep their monthly water bills low during the warm weather months ahead.

The new restrictions include reducing spray irrigation usage to no more than two days per week (following the schedule at unionconserves.com) and no car washing at home.
