Support the Union County Christmas Bureau

As we celebrate this season of thanks, please help make a positive difference in the lives of many in our community by taking time to share a smile or an encouraging word, and by giving a little extra to support those in need this season.

The Union County Christmas Bureau still has dozens of children hoping to be matched with someone who can make their Christmas bright.

🎁 Adopt a Christmas Bureau Recipient

We have 27 tags representing 15 children recipients, ages 0–11, who need our support this Christmas. If you haven’t yet adopted a recipient—or if you feel led to take another—select a recipient today and purchase some gifts from their wish list to brighten the season for a child in need. Click this internal link (accessible on the County network only, not on cell phones). Choose the child and type of gift you’d like to provide - whether it’s a larger item like a bike or electronics, or smaller essentials like clothing, school supplies or toiletries – then click on the box next to the recipient(s) to select them.

After selecting your recipient(s), proceed to checkout by clicking the cart icon (at the top right of the page), fill in your contact information, and click “submit form.” You'll receive a confirmation email to attach to the gifts you will donate.

Drop-Off Instructions: Bring your unwrapped gifts by Monday, Dec. 8, with your confirmation email securely taped to each gift. Drop them off at the Human Services building (2330 Concord Ave.), in room A208.

💚 Volunteer Your Time with Christmas Bureau

Thanks to overwhelming support from employees and the community, there are few opportunities left to volunteer with the Christmas Bureau.

If you'd like to volunteer, sign up for a three-hour shift. If you are coordinating a group, each individual should register. If you have questions, email Kristine Gross.

This is a great opportunity to use your Volunteer Time Off (VTO) benefit or to serve with coworkers, friends or family.

If you volunteer during the workday, be sure to complete the VTO request form on County Connect, get approval from your supervisor, and record your approved time on your timesheet in Munis ESS.

Our Solid Waste team is one of many County departments that are supporting the Christmas Bureau this year!

Every contribution - whether through donated gifts, your time or a monetary donation - makes a meaningful difference in bringing joy to those in need in our community.
