Colleagues,
We’re excited to share that we are evolving our Fun Committee into a new Wellness Committee (official name is forthcoming). This change reflects our commitment to supporting your physical, mental and organizational well-being through engaging activities, events and resources. It aligns with our strategic priorities and our commitment to continuously enhance pay and benefits to invest in our most valuable asset – our employees.
The Wellness Committee will build on the great work of the Fun Committee while expanding its mission. First up, you can look forward to:
-
Physical Wellness: Wellhub is a new program that gives you access to fitness, mindfulness, nutrition, and sleep resources nationwide. The County will cover the full cost of the starter membership plan ($11.99/month). You can upgrade to a higher-tier plan for even more options and pay the difference via payroll deduction. Employees should have received an email from Wellhub this morning. It's safe to open and click the link to create an account. View more details on County Connect.
-
When you create your Wellhub account, you will download an app to your phone. The app will prompt you to login to your new account, and begin a free seven-day trial for *any* plan, so you will hit “try 7 days for free” then the next screen shows that starting next Monday, Aug. 25, you will pay $0 if you stick with the starter plan, and any higher-tier plan, the difference will then be deducted from your paycheck starting Aug. 25 (or seven days after your trial begins).
- Friendly reminder: If they sign up for a higher-tier plan, and decide you do not want it, you will need to change it before your trial period ends. After the trail period, you would have to wait until the next month to change it.
-
Organizational Wellness: Regular Food Truck Lunches are coming to the Government Center in late August/early September, with possibilities to expand to other County facilities.
-
Mental Wellness: Our first Speaker Series session, Employee Well-Being: Mitigating Burnout, will be held Oct. 7. The enhanced speaker series through our new Learning & Development program is available to all employees. Each year, the Wellness Committee will ensure an employee wellbeing topic is covered through the Speaker Series.
We encourage you to get involved by attending events, trying Wellhub, and sharing your ideas with the Wellness Committee. Learn more about the Wellness Committee on County Connect.
Thank you for all you do to serve our community. We hope these new initiatives help you feel supported, energized and connected.
