Volunteer season is quickly approaching, and three new agencies with volunteer opportunities have been added to our list of eligible agencies:
Support our newest FY26 community partners, or any approved agency, and use your Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to be compensated while you do so.
Eligible employees have 16 hours per year to use toward volunteering with approved agencies. VTO requests require two steps. First, the employee completes the VTO Request Form. Once approved by the supervisor, the second step occurs when the employee submits their time in Employee Self Service to appear on the timecard. VTO should be taken in at least two-hour increments. Review full policy details in the Personnel Resolution.
How do you interact with your co-workers, customers and managers each day? The Society of Human Resources (SHRM) reports 208 million acts of incivility occur each day with more than 50% of workers experiencing incivility in the workplace. Incivility affects mental health, lowers morale and reduces productivity with estimates of individuals taking 1.7 days off per month due to incivility.
What can you do to improve workplace civility?
- Develop positive working relationships and get to know your co-workers by having conversations.
- Have a civil conversation by: Exercising Empathy – understand another’s viewpoint, Listen to Understand, Pause in the Moment before reacting, and Respect every voice.
For more information or resources to address civility in the workplace, contact the HR Office.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRADITIONAL HEALTH PLAN MEMBERS
If you were enrolled in the Traditional health plan option (non-Marathon Health direct primary care members) during the July 2024 – June 2025 plan year, a new process will affect your remaining HRA balance effective July 1, 2025. If a claim incurred from July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025, has not been processed by Marpai by June 30, 2025, and you have not exhausted your HRA funds, you will need to seek direct reimbursement of HRA funds through our benefit consultant team, McGriff. Review the details on how to review your HRA balance and submit claims for reimbursement of these funds.
Are you interested in stepping into a leadership role within our organization one day? The Emerging Leaders Program is designed to help you get there - building the skills, confidence and mindset needed to lead teams and take on greater responsibility.
The 2025-2026 program is open to full-time employees with at least two years of service by Jan. 1, 2026, and is limited to just 30 participants. Apply by Sept. 1 to be considered.
