Colleagues,
The Board of County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2026 budget at Monday night's regular meeting. An overview of the adopted budget will be available soon on our website, and I encourage you to review it when it is published.
As your County Manager, one of my ongoing priorities is investing in our workforce. The Board has also shown their commitment to our employees by approving funding that reflects a commitment to fair and competitive compensation.
Key employee-focused investments in the FY26 budget include:
- Implementation of the final phase of our Classification & Compensation Study
- Continuation of the longevity bonus for all eligible employees
- A mid-year 2.5% cost of living adjustment for all eligible employees
Over the next few weeks, our Human Resources team will begin implementing the final Classification & Compensation adjustments, effective with the pay period starting June 28. Your supervisor will share specific details about individual compensation changes as they become available.
In addition, I'm happy to share the Board has also approved my recommendation to guarantee a third holiday day around Christmas, so that regardless of what day the Christmas holiday falls on, employees will have three paid days off to spend with loved ones.
Thank you for the work you do every day to serve our community. The FY26 budget reflects where we are headed as an organization and how much we value the people doing the work to get us there.
Sincerely,
 Brian Matthews, County Manager
