Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony Today

All Union County employees are invited to the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony today, May 15, at 12:45 p.m. in the courtyard between the Union County Judicial Center and Government Center. The Sheriff's Office and several local law enforcement agencies will honor law enforcement officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

For awareness for employees working at the Government Center, you will hear gunshots at approximately 11 a.m. as the Honor Guard fires a 21-gun salute during a ceremony practice and again at approximately at 1:15 p.m. to conclude the ceremony. The shots are blanks, so no actual projectiles will be fired.

This a planned and coordinated effort. Please do not panic or call 911 if you hear gunshots at the times listed above.
