Colleagues,
One of the most meaningful parts of our role is recognizing the dedication, talent and impact of Union County employees. We are particularly pleased to honor those who go above and beyond what is expected in service to our organization and community.
Earlier this year, we asked for nominations for the annual Bobby Cobb Award, an honor reserved for employees who have led major initiatives requiring collaboration and coordination across multiple departments. We were proud to receive several thoughtful nominations highlighting the incredible work happening across our organization.
We are pleased to announce that Jared Steele, a dedicated Union County Parks & Recreation employee of more than 20 years, has been selected as the 2025 Bobby Cobb Award recipient.
This prestigious annual award recognizes employees who make a lasting, organization-wide impact through exceptional service, leadership, and teamwork.
Jared exemplifies the spirit of this award through his unwavering dedication, collaborative mindset, and commitment to initiatives that improve Union County for all. Read more about his efforts. Watch a short video from the surprise presentation last week.
