Deadline for Filing Appeals for Property Values is May 28, 2025

Street of homes and street lamp, property appraisal

Union County property owners recently received property value notices following the 2025 countywide reappraisal, a process that is mandated by the state to ensure fair and equitable property assessments. The notices stated the Tax Administrator’s Office should receive appeals within 30 days from the date of the notice. However, property owners who disagree with their new value may submit an appeal electronically by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, or postmarked by that date. The request for an appeal filing within 30 days allows property owners to work directly with Tax office staff to review property details, address concerns, and work toward a resolution before moving to a formal hearing with the Board of Equalization and Review. March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. While screening is recommended starting at age 45, it's essential to pay attention to symptoms like unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool, or ongoing abdominal discomfort.

If you have a family history of inflammatory bowel disease or a genetic condition, you may need to get screened earlier. Learn more about the importance of screening.
