New Property Values Notices Mailed to Property Owners

Union County's Tax Administration Office has completed the 2025 countywide reappraisal (also known as revaluation) and began mailing notices of the new assessed value to all property owners on Wednesday, March 5.

Reappraisal is the state-mandated revaluing of all real property for residents and businesses to ensure each property's assessed value accurately reflects its fair market value. The notice is not a tax bill. Click here to learn more.

Confirmed Tornado Touchdown in Unionville

The U.S. National Weather Service has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in the Unionville area on Wednesday, March 5. The storm caused moderate damage in the Porter Ridge area, with estimated maximum speeds at 90 miles per hour, resulting in structural damage and approximately 1,700 power outages. Debris Removal Contractors to Survey County Waterways

Recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene continue across North Carolina, and over the next two weeks, debris removal contractors will begin surveying creeks and streams across Union County. These contractors will assess storm debris in local waterways to determine the scope of work needed for removal.

NCDOT to Close Gribble Road Next Week for Maintenance

The NC Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Gribble Road between Navajo Trail and Arrow Drive from March 10-14, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers are advised to follow signed detour routes to Old Monroe Road.

Virtual Public Meetings: Critical Intersection Program 

Critical Intersection Program

Union County will co-host virtual public meetings next week to share potential designs to improve intersections in Indian Trail and Wesley Chapel. All residents are welcome to join these open house style meetings at any time during the two house sessions to ask questions, learn about the alternatives and provide feedback before a design is selected later this spring.
