St. Patrick's Day Treasure Hunt

Look out! Leprechauns have been stashing their treasure at Cane Creek Park, and we need your help finding it! Visit Cane Creek Park on Monday, March 17, to search for bags of gold, silver, or bronze coins. Bring your treasure bag to our front office for a prize! Only one bag per family/group may be redeemed at a time. Happy hunting! 

*Program is free with paid entrance fee.

The Union County Senior Games is now open for registration for the 2025 season! Union County residents ages 50+ can join exciting sports or art events and meet new friends! To register, visit the North Carolina Senior Games' website

Hike Smart 101

Hike Smart

In partnership with Union County Parks and Recreation, a course featuring the fundamentals of hiking and backpacking will be led by instructor Macky Goodman. This course focuses on preparation, safety and best practices for an enjoyable outdoor experience. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence needed to explore trails responsibly and efficiently! Course dates are Sunday, April 6, and Sunday April 13. Community Events

Cane Creek Park Entrance & Rental Boats

Starting Saturday, March 1, the entrance fee to Cane Creek Park will be $4 per vehicle, and $8 for vehicle and trailer. 

Rental boats will begin Saturday, March 1. Rent a kayak, canoe, or Jon boat for $10 an hour with a 2-hour minimum. 

Cane Creek Park Hours

Starting Monday, March 3, Cane Creek Park hours will be changing to 7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Community Health Assessment

Union County Human Services, in partnership with Novant Health, Atrium Health, and other community partners, proudly announces the launch of the 2025 Community Health Assessment (CHA). This extensive survey aims to gather vital health information from residents across ten counties and involves six hospital systems to better address regional health challenges. 

If you are a Union County resident, you are encouraged to complete the survey and share amongst other fellow Union County residents. Click here to access the survey
