Board of County Commissioners Meeting

Union County's Board of Commissioners held a special meeting this week to hear updates on several large projects and initiatives, particularly before budget consideration for the next fiscal year. Topics included countywide property reappraisal, financial updates, capital projects, and more. The meeting was streamed live on our YouTube.

Launch and Grow Your Business

Kickstart your entrepreneurial journey with Union County Library's Small Business Series, presented in partnership with SPCC Small Business Center and African Americans and Labor, in honor of the Black History Month.

The series begins with "Steps to Startup" on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Main Library.

Join us for the second session, “Developing a Business Plan,” on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Main Library.

Experience Local Talent at the Dowd Center Theater

The Dowd Center Theater is hosting a gallery exhibition called "Where We Wander," featuring work by local artists Joanna Lothers of Lancaster, SC, and Deborah Brown of Monroe, NC. Lothers, working in oil and watercolor, and Brown, specializing in soft pastel, bring their passion for representational art to life - especially through stunning landscapes.

This exhibition marks the beginning of a new series utilizing the Dowd’s gallery space. The opening reception is open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5-7 p.m., with light refreshments and the opportunity to purchase original artwork.

The exhibit is available through through April 9, with gallery hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
