Black History Spotlight Rosa Parks

Day of Love Celebration
Friday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the J. Ray Shrute Community Center.
Black History Spotlight: Christine Mann Darden
Monday, Feb. 17, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Dickerson Community Center.
Black History Trivia Bowl
Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for ages 6-14 at the Old Armory Community Center.
Launch and Grow Your Business
Kickstart your entrepreneurial journey with Union County Library's Small Business Series, presented in partnership with SPCC Small Business Center and African Americans and Labor, in honor of the Black History Month.
The series begins with "Steps to Startup" on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Main Library.
Join us for the second session, “Developing a Business Plan,” on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Main Library.

Experience Local Talent at the Dowd Center Theater
The Dowd Center Theater is hosting a gallery exhibition called "Where We Wander," featuring work by local artists Joanna Lothers of Lancaster, SC, and Deborah Brown of Monroe, NC. Lothers, working in oil and watercolor, and Brown, specializing in soft pastel, bring their passion for representational art to life - especially through stunning landscapes.
This exhibition marks the beginning of a new series utilizing the Dowd’s gallery space. The opening reception is open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5-7 p.m., with light refreshments and the opportunity to purchase original artwork.
The exhibit is available through through April 9, with gallery hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
